Genesis Capital, one of the largest private equity fund managers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, will have a new partner as of 1 March 2012 – investment manager Ondřej Vičar.

“Ondřej’s appointment as partner is a logical step forward in his successful career. He is very familiar with the corporate sphere and has the advantage of having had direct experience with corporate management. Ondřej has proven his abilities in a number of projects; of particular note was his key role in the restructuring of Vltava.cz at the time of its insolvency,” saysJan Tauber, the Managing Partner of Genesis Capital.

Ondřej Vičar has cooperated with Genesis Capital since 2007. Prior to that, he worked at Ogilvy Public Relations. In his cooperation with Genesis Capital, he has played numerous roles, including serving as the Managing Director of Vltava.cz and in the statutory bodies of many companies in our portfolio. Ondřej graduated from the University of Economics in Prague. He also studied under a Socrates scholarship in Santiago de Chile and with the George Soros’ Open Society Fund in the USA. He speaks Czech, Slovak, English, and Spanish.

Genesis Capital, one of the largest private equity fund managers in the Czech Republic, offers small and medium-sized enterprises in the Czech Republic and Slovakia financing for their further development. Through private equity funds, it has already supported more than twenty Czech and Slovak companies, including, for example, AB Facility, pietro filipi, CCS, ETARGET, Gumotex, Servodata, and others.

Since its establishment in 1999, Genesis Capital has managed three private equity funds with an aggregate volume of nearly 100 million euros. Two of those funds have placed all of the capital they had at their disposal in Czech and Slovak companies. The youngest fund, Genesis Private Equity Fund II, with a volume of 40 million euros, is currently open for further investments.
